Frequently Asked Questions
How Many Dogs Do You Facilitate at One Time?
We are a smaller facility that has 11 suites for dog families. We accommodate many multi dog families which can bring a full house maximum to approximately 12-15 dogs.
My Dog Is On Medication and Has Special Needs, Will You Accomodate This?
We love to be able to accommodate special needs dogs. Each kennel has a doggy door to a small and separated outdoor run, this is helpful for dogs who have mobility issues and need to stick to a lower activity level.
For medications, please bring everything needed to administer with ease. It is recommended to bring extra medication for longer boarding stays. There is no general medical condition fee unless the case is complex.
In this case, we will discuss a plan together.
I will gather extensive instructions from you about your dog's special diet, medications, or limited mobility requests. Our facility is a top choice for senior and special needs dogs, we absolutely love every minute we get to pamper them in comfort and security while their parents are away.
(if there are incontinence issues please discuss this with me at the time of booking)
How Much Time Do The Dogs Get To Play Outside?

Our daily routine allows the dogs to spend their outdoor enrichment time in the country, from 7am-12pm and 3pm-5:30pm and 8pm-9pm everyday. During the times that we are closed the guests are quietly taking a much needed rest in their own suite. For outside play time, we have many different secure areas for the dogs to sniff and explore, and also a fully secure 1 acre dog park to run and play.
With that said, no dog has to go out and play if they do not want to. We carefully listen to each dogs desires, if they let us know that they need some more down time, we will grant them that. Each dog has the choice of how they want to spend their holiday time at Aunty's Place!
How Far In Advance Do We Need To Book?
Suites are very limited and in high demand for weekends and high travel seasons (Summer, Christmas etc. ) We may need a few months notice.

What is your cancellation policy?
For holiday times and long weekends you have one week prior to your scheduled reservation to make any changes to your preferred check in or check out dates. If you are making a change to the length of your stay, or need to pick up your dog early and have not let us know a week before your check in date, you will have to pay for the nights originally reserved.
A cancellation to your entire stay, or early check outs on a regular calendar day does not have a penalty implimented. However, please make sure to let us know at least a week before your reservation out of courtesy to our small business and fellow clients.
FAQ
What do I need to bring for my dog's sleep over?
All we really need is more than enough food for their stay. However, you are more than welcome to bring anything you would like your dog to have. Bedding, blankets, toys, treats, kongs for stuffing, peanut butter and safe chew sticks are welcomed. For puppies, safe chew toys are very helpful to bring. Please do not bring dishes. Clean and comfortable bedding is provided for those who do not bring any for their stay.
If your small breed dog has accidents at home, please bring pee pads.
If your puppy is not fully house trained, please bring their crate for bed time.
Will my dog get to play with other dogs during their stay? Do you mix small dogs and large dogs together? What if they don't get along with other dogs?
During your dog's boarding stay, the top priorities are their comfort, safety, and trust in me. Socializing with other dogs comes second, if at all.
If they are smaller in size, are comfortable and polite to be introduced to dogs, and would benefit from meeting same size friends, then they can absolutely enjoy some dog play time.
I work alone so I only socialize if there is consent from the other dog, their owners and if they are small enough for me to manage and. Most boarding clients appreciate that their dog doesn't have to be physically with dogs that they don't know.
This makes for the safest environment with zero dog to dog conflict and a heightened trust bond with me.
If overly aroused/ stimulated/ stressed behaviours are shown (fence fighting, defensive barking etc)
I will ask that they be picked up
However, dogs who trust that I will not allow other dogs to approach them tend to be much more calm and comfortable.
. This makes for very happy guests who love and trust their Aunty A.
If you are looking for more of a daycare/ dog park environment with a full staff to manage the socailizing dogs, there are many other places I can point you to.
My pet has a special diet. Can their needs be accommodated?
Absolutely. We accept all different kinds of diets and I will ask you for their feeding instructions during their check in. Raw food diets MUST be pre portioned per meal into ziplock bags.
We have a fridge and freezer for safe keeping.
How does your pricing work?
Our pricing works very similar to a human hotel.  For over night boarding, we charge per nights stay. ( see Rates page) Check out is before noon, if you need to pick up between our next opening hours of 3pm-6pm ( 5pm closing time on Sundays and Holidays) the appropriate daycare fee is added onto your total. We do not offer out of hours pick ups or drop offs or long term stay discounts.

Do you have any breed restrictions?
All breeds are welcomed at Aunty's Place! However, we do have behaviour restrictions. With respect to keeping Aunty's Place a fun, calm, and safe environment for everyone, I do require each guest to be respectful of other dogs, our state of the art facility, and myself. Any dangerous behaviours, fence fighting, ill intent, destructiveness etc. from any breed of dog, is not suitable for boarding here for safety reasons. If any dangerous behaviours are shown, and not easily corrected, you will be contacted to arrange pick up by either you, or your emergency contact.
Do you take intact dogs?
(not spayed or neutered)
I do accept dogs who are not spayed or neutered. However, for female dogs, if they are in season, it is best if they stay home.
